The “FAITES SONNER LA CAISSE COUCHE-TARD” Contest (referred to hereinafter as “the Contest”) is organized by the promotion departments of Le Journal de Montréal, Le Journal de Québec and Couche-Tard (referred to hereinafter collectively as “the Contest Organizers”).

The Contest will begin on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at 12h01 a.m. and will end on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. (referred to hereinafter as “the Contest Period”).

At participating Couche-Tard establishments in Québec and with the purchase of a copy of Le Journal de Montréal or Le Journal de Québec (according to availability of products and while stocks last), consumers have a chance to win one of two (2) daily prizes. They will hear the cash register ring (sound of a harp) if they have won.

Participants must adhere to the Contest Rules, including the following rules, failing which the Contest Organizers reserve the right to cancel that person’s participation.

Winners’ prizes

Sixty-two (62) winners will receive a Couche-Tard gift card (valid for products in store and gas) with a retail value of one hundred Canadian dollars (CDN$100) (referred to hereinafter as the “Prize”).

During the Contest Period, two (2) drawings will take place per day, at random. A special cash register receipt will be given to the consumer to confirm the prize. The consumer must retain this receipt (referred to hereinafter as the “Entry Ticket”) and contact Messageries Dynamiques at the number indicated.

Participants selected through the means described in this document must contact Messageries Dynamiques to obtain their prize. Prior to obtaining their Prize, the participant will have to answer a mathematical skill-testing question (referred to hereinafter as the “Skill-testing Question”). Following a correct answer to the Skill-testing Question, the participant will be declared a winner (referred to hereinafter as the “Winner”), provided they have fulfilled all the conditions described in this document and adhered to the Contest Rules.

Subject to the terms and conditions in this document, the Contest is open to any person 18 years of age or older who is a resident of the province of Québec, or of outside the province of Québec if in a place where Le Journal de Montréal and/or Le Journal de Québec is distributed, with the exception of employees, agents and/or representatives of Le Journal de Montréal, Le  Journal de Québec, Couche-Tard, distribution companies or affiliated entities, advertising agencies or any person directly related to the Contest, as well as any person residing with or who is a member of the immediate family of such an employee, agent or representative. For the purposes of these Contest Rules, “immediate family” refers to the father, mother, brothers, sisters, children, husband, wife and/or spouse of the employee, agent or representative.

The Contest Organizers will not be liable for incomplete or incomprehensible contact information from participants. Contest Organizers reserve the right to reject any Entry Ticket that is illegible, damaged, or contains a human or mechanical error. Entry Tickets are subject to verification and will be declared void if they are illegible, damaged, falsified, altered, or do not adhere to the Contest Rules.

The Contest Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any Contest participant who violates the Contest Rules or who attempts to participate using any entry method not authorized by the Contest Rules (e.g. exceeding the permitted limit, computer hacking, falsified entries, etc.). Such persons may also be subject to judicial proceedings.

Winners must claim their Prize by following the instructions indicated on the cash register receipt within 30 business days of the draw, otherwise the awarding will become null and void and, if need be, the Prize will not be the object of a new draw and will simply not be awarded.

By participating in this Contest, the Winner irrevocably authorizes the organizers and their representatives to use his or her name, photograph, image and/or voice in any and all media, without any form of remuneration, to announce that he/or she is a Contest Winner.

The Prize must be accepted as described in these Contest Rules and may not be substituted for another Prize at the request of the Winner, nor exchanged in whole or in part for cash, nor transferred to another person.

The Contest Organizers, their respective companies and divisions and any other legal entity of their respective corporate group, advertising or promotional agencies and respectively their shareholders, directors, officers, employees, and any other person related to this Contest are released from any liability relating to the Prize and the Contest and do not provide any guarantee in respect thereof.

Contest Organizers will not be liable for any other problem that could interfere with the proper functioning of the Contest in accordance with these Contest Rules, including, but without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the cancellation or the postponement of promotions of the said Contest.

Odds of winning will depend on the number of copies of Le Journal de Montréal and/or Le Journal de Québec sold at participating Couche-Tard establishments.
